Activities
The Lakeshore area is an all season playground. If you want the beach, head on over to Belle River Beach for the day. Brought your boat? slip it in at Cove Marina boat launch in Lighthouse Cove. The lake is a great fishing and boating lake. Want to go exploring? If you love birds, take a drive to Pelee Island and enjoy some unique and endangered species bird watching.
The cottage is also equipped with some kayaks and a paddle board. Throw on a lifejacket and enjoy the lake. You can never have a bad day on the water.
Take in some of the great local eats and watering holes around the area or venture out to one of the Essex County Wineries or Breweries for some tours.
Don't feel like cooking? Enjoy a night out at one of the many local restaurants and patios that have mouth watering food, welcoming staff and even live music. There are many waterfront restaurants and marinas accessible by boat that you can enjoy. Check out some of our recommendations under the Food & Drink page.
We also highly recommend just sitting back, relaxing and taking in the fresh air, soothing sound of the water, the warm summer breeze, a good book and an evening campfire.
Lake St. Clair has a US-Canada border running through the middle of it. Should you have your passport in hand, hop in your boat and travel across to the many waterfront restaurants in Michigan. Border entry and exit rules apply*.
Please do immerse yourself in all the great things the area provides. Hopefully you'll make it back again to check out some that you may have missed.
